Originally from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Pedro first became politically active as a teenager during fights against neoliberalism. Later in the US he was active in student organizing against community college budget cuts. He is a father and currently lives in the Bay Area where he is an active member and steward in the warehouse division of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU).



Born and raised in Los Angeles, Markie first became politicized by Bush’s “war on terror” and became active during the time of Obama’s drone bombing and struggles around DACA and immigrant rights. She is currently a student and active with California Autonomous Student Movement and feminist organizing with the Anti-Capitalist Feminist Coalition.

What Is Black Rose/Rosa Negra?

Black Rose Anarchist Federation / Federación Anarquista Rosa Negra, also known as Black Rose/Rosa Negra (BRRN), is a political organization with shared politics and a strategic vision of building popular power in our workplaces, neighborhoods, schools and all sectors of society towards the goal of libertarian socialism. The organization has over a dozen chapters across the US with strong ties to similar organizations based in Latin America.
